Dear Parents and Carers,

Re: Responsible Parking and the Safety of Our Children

We would like to remind all parents and carers of the vital importance of parking safely and responsibly when dropping off or collecting children from school. The safety of our students must always come first. Every decision made when parking or stopping near the school directly affects the wellbeing of our children and their families.

Please ensure that you do not park on the zig-zag lines outside the school or stop on the pelican crossing, even for a brief moment. These areas are strictly no-parking zones to protect children as they cross the road. Keeping them clear allows drivers to see children more easily and helps prevent potentially serious accidents.

We also ask that you continue to show respect for our neighbours by avoiding blocking driveways, parking on pavements, or causing congestion around the school gates. These behaviours not only inconvenience others but can also force children and parents to walk on the road, putting them at unnecessary risk.

All students receive advice and guidance about road safety via the school curriculum, PSHE programme and school assemblies, particularly in the lead up to dark mornings and evenings when travelling to and from school. We also work closely with our Safer Schools Police Officer and Community Police Officers to keep students safe. Alongside this, the Leadership Team supervise the school gates and the local area each day.

To support everyone’s safety, please be aware that traffic wardens will be monitoring the area over the coming weeks, and fines may be issued for any parking violations.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and for playing your part in keeping our children safe and supporting our local community. By working together, we can ensure that every student arrives and leaves school in a safe and respectful environment.
