Spirit of Françoise Awards

May 22, 2021

Spirit of Françoise Awards

The Awards season has continued on Friday LIVE @ 8:55.   This time, the Spirit of Françoise Awards were announced by our Headteacher, Mr Alderman.

The awards are named after Françoise Blin de Bourdon – the best friend of St. Julie and co-foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame.   She was instrumental in continuing the educational mission of the Sisters for 22 years after St. Julie died in 1816.

The Spirit of Françoise Award is given to the student in each year who has best lived out our Mission Statement.   Other schools might call this the Student of the Year, but we are delighted to offer name awards in remembrance of Françoise.  The winners of this prestigious award are:

Year 7 - Mary D

Year 8 - Ruby R

Year 9 - Jasmine P

Year 10 - Kyla R

Year 11 - Erin D

Year 12 - Gemma B

And the winner for Year 13 was our Deputy Head Girl, Penny, who was surprised to hear her name announced live on air as she was doing the tech for the broadcast around school!

Well done to all the winners. Next week, we move on to the Notre Dame Awards culminating in the biggie – the Spirit of St. Julie Award!
