Today our whole staff joined together with our Year 13 students to celebrate our time together at St. Julie’s.
The Leavers’ celebration is always an emotional occasion, and this year the pandemic did not stand in the way of a beautiful ceremony in a widely spaced Sports Hall.
The ceremonial exchange of responsibilities from our outgoing to our incoming 1804 Society is an important transition in our school year and speaks of the continuity of the spirit of St. Julie across the decades. This year the ceremonial baton was passed from Head Girl Olivia Murphy-Herdman to our incoming Student President, Lois McGregor.
Today's ceremony also saw the presentation of our St Julie Awards, the highest awards that we present to students. These awards are normally presented at Prize Night, but owing to the unusual circumstances this year we were proud to present our Year 13 recipients to three very deserving students.
Our 'Sunflower' award this year was presented to Amy Aspinall, and our 'Serving the Good God Well' award was presented to Sophie McCarthy. Our flagship 'Spirit of St Julie Award' was presented at the ceremony to Head Girl, Olivia Murphy-Herdman.
We wish all of our Year 13 students the very best of luck for their futures, and hope that as they leave St. Julie’s, St. Julie’s will never leave them!
