Today some of the Year 8 Geography students took on the role of the Environment Agency in creating a settlement next to a river but having to consider how the risks of flooding could be mitigated.
Pupils had to plan and model their settlements using floodplain zoning to reduce the flood risk for key settlement areas and utilising their river management skills.
Pupils rose to the challenge and we’re able to confidently explain their choices, resulting in some certificates being awarded. Well done girls!
