The Girls' Network: Impact Report

We've had our mid year impact report in from our mentoring programme with The Girls' Network, and the results are worth reading!

The programme has made a hugely positive impact, with some of the headline figures below:

100% of mentees said that they believe their mentor is a good match.
100% of mentees said that they are more confident trying new things.
100% of mentees said that they are more confident meeting new people.
90% of mentees said that they are are more confident making decisions compared to the beginning of the programme.

Highlights from some of the mentor comments include: "I feel me and G have bonded really well. She is always really receptive and I feel I understand the challenges she faces. As G is interested in law, I have been able to share my experience as a fully qualified solicitor and explainpotential pathways to law", and "A created a vision board and shared her interests and aspirations with me .I was really impressed as all of this was really developed for a 14 year old!".

Feedback from the students about the mentors was equally positive, with some comments including:

"My mentor explains things in a way that I understand. If I am not familiar with something sh ewill make sure that I understand before she continues. I can talk about my future without feeling embarrassed or scared".

"My mentor has taught me howr esilience can make you a better person and help yo ubounce back from any setbacks that you face".

"My mentor is a really good listener. She is very supportive and helpful. She has helped motivate me to focus on my mental health and wellbeing".

In a particularly difficult and turbulent academic year, we're delighted that the programme is continuing to have such a positive impact for our students.
