Students from Years 7 to 9 enjoyed a visit to our sister school in Sheffield to pass on the baton as part of a national tour!
During our 'Year of St Julie' celebration at the Cathedral a baton symbolising the spirit of St. Julie was passed from Sisters across the country to our students, where is passed through the year groups before reaching our youngest student, Leah Brown.
Leah has now handed over the baton to two students at Notre Dame Sheffield as the first leg of a national tour including Sheffield, Norwich, Southwark, Plymouth, Glasgow and Dumbarton before returning to our sister school right here in Liverpool, Notre Dame Catholic College.
It will then be handed over to Sr. Margaret Walsh SND, curator of the Notre Dame heritage centre in Namur, who will take it there. This final handover will take place in November as we draw to a close this wonderful Year of St Julie. It will be handed over at a special service of celebration at the Metropolitan Cathedral which will be attended by a delegation from each of the Notre Dame schools that welcomed the baton to their school.
