It was wonderful to round off our calendar year with an act of whole school collective worship as we brought the Year of the Saint to an end with a celebration of Advent.

With the whole school assembled in a transformed Sports Hall, Mr Anderson led us through reflections on the Christmas story, with some prerecorded video that drew on the talents of our drama students. Singers and dancers also came to the fore, with recitals from the choir, some rousing performances from our music ministry, and some powerful dance performances.

Everybody got to contribute to the celebration, firstly with the collection of donations for the Micah foodbank which was almost overwhelming, and ultimately filled - floor to ceiling - two of the foodbank vans, and secondly with some stirring singing that included a very high spirited rendition of 'My Lighthouse'.

Thank you to all of the staff and students who worked so hard in preparing the service and the room. A very happy new year to you all.
