We've been having fun with numbers today as the Maths Department held their World Cup themed Maths Party Day!

Our staff and numeracy ambassadors were working hard to give everyone a great time as we used the power of mathematics to make spaghetti towers and practice our paper craft. Many of the students managed to successfully assembly a truncated icosahedron, which is a shape with which we're all familiar. (No really, it's a football!)

It was a good shape to remember as students tried their luck in a break time 'Beat the Goalie' or posed in front of the World Cup photobooth board. One lucky winner also came closest to the correct weight of a beautifully crafted football themed cake.

Thanks to all the students who took part and made the day go so well, as well as the staff who put so much in to preparing for the day.
