Notre Dame Memorial Mass Bridges Generations

On Wednesday, 29th November, 2017, generations of students of the Sisters of Notre Dame gathered at the SND Convent on Woolton Road for a Memorial Mass.

Six of our youngest students led the singing and the older members of the congregation were delighted to meet them afterwards and conversations flowed back and forth between young and not so young.

One of the former pupils of Notre Dame, Mount Pleasant said “Seeing these girls made me feel 11 years old again and I thought about my experiences starting at Notre Dame in the war.”

The most senior participant was 94 years old and passed on our Spirit of St. Julie baton to the St. Julie’s girls!  We worked out that if our 11 years olds live to that age, they can hand on the baton in the next century!

Megan, Phoebe, Charlotte, Jennifer, Daisy and Holly were absolutely super in all respects – quite magnificent ambassadors for our school!
