Support Materials for UCAS Applicants

As the deadline for UCAS applications for current Year 13 students fast approaches - and as current Year 12 students may also start to consider their options post-Sixth Form - we have made available to students a range of support materials and guidance.

This includes:

Guidance on writing personal statements for students applying for degrees in Mathematics or English and related subjects

General advice for students who are called to interview by universities following their application

More specific advice for students applying for courses in nursing and medicine and how to prepare for interviews

Information regarding the UCAS 'tariff' - explaining the value given to different grades across different qualifications 

 

Current Year 13 students have already received extensive support with their applications, including:

UCAS presentation delivered to all students

June 2017

UCAS login and registration – all students

June 2017

Visit to Hope university

July 2017

Students access VLE  for UCAS support documents

Summer holidays 2017

Students to:

Produce first draft of Personal Statement

Research university choices and entry criteria

Check external test requirements eg LNAT, BMAT, UKCAT etc

September 2017

UCAS information evening

September 2017

Early applicants give Personal Statement to tutor

All other applicants to continue with UCAS application

October 15th

Early application deadline

UCAS meetings and sending applications
