On Wednesday 11 January 27 Year 7 and 8 students attended The Brilliant Club Scholars Programme launch event at the University of Manchester.

This gave students the opportunity to experience university life, attend lectures and prepare for their assignment. As expected, behaviour and conduct was exemplary and students thoroughly enjoyed the day. 

Over the next few months students will attend seven tutorials focused on a topic one key stage above their current year group. The assignment will focus on a STEM related research topic called 'Disease Detectives'.

Students have been assigned to a PhD Tutor and they will complete a 1500-word assignment in relation to the research topic. Good luck to all students involved in this prestigious national programme!
