CAFOD LiveSimply Award

In assemblies this week, our Chaplain has been speaking to students about the CAFOD LiveSimply award. This is an opportunity for Catholic communities - parishes, schools, religious orders and chaplaincies - to respond to Pope Francis' invitation in Laudato Si' to "work with generosity and tenderness in protecting this world which God has entrusted to us". The LiveSimply award is earned by communities and schools who can show how they have been living:

- simply
- in solidarity with people in poverty
- sustainably with creation

The award celebrates what is already being done and inspires groups to do more. It helps a community to live not just more simply, but also more fully.

Alongside many other schools in the Archdiocese, the St. Julie’s community will be launching LiveSimply this year. We hope this will help us to embed real change in school but also at home, with the support of our parents, carers and wider family.

Our Chaplain will be inviting students to work as a team to create a plan which will have an impact at school as well as on a local and global scale. Students who are interested in being involved in the LiveSimply Team should look out for future information about meetings, which will be published in due course.
