Congratulations to Chloe in Year 12 and Faith in Year 7 who have won 'Young Dancer of the Year' and 'Tiny Dancer of the Year' titles at the Northwest Dancing Association's competition! 

The tournament was an end of season championships for Morris Dancers and was held at the Flamingo Land resort in Yorkshire.

Although Chloe normally dances with a group she took on the solo event against twenty dancers, with successive rounds bringing the numbers down to six for the final round. After a fantastic performance Chloe prevailed as the winner, earning the 'Young Dancer of the Year' title. She has recently joined the school community as part of our Sixth Form and can be seen as the famous fitness instructor in the forthcoming school production of 'Legally Blonde'.

At the other end of our age range, Faith in Year 7 has a wealth of experience to draw on despite her young age. She dances with the Nouveaux Morris Dancers Troupe in Netherley and explains her long association with Morris dancing: "My older sister was dancing and so I was taken along to sessions from birth. When I started taking my first steps I started to dance!"

Faith's experience paid off, and in her solo competition won the title of 'Tiny Dancer of the Year'. Well done to both students for their recent success!
