On Wednesday 15th June our choir attended the Good Shepherd Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral, the first such gathering since the pandemic.
The beautiful event saw over 30 schools collaborate singing together. As one of the more experienced secondary schools, our pupils led on songs and supported younger primary school children. It was the hottest day of the year so far and the pupils had the opportunity to eat their lunch outside in the grounds of the Cathedral along with all of the other 500 children.
Throughout a series of workshops leading up to the event, our choir were taught the meaning of the service and then performed the work to celebrate the mass and to thank the Diocesan Schools for their charitable fund raising throughout the year in support of Nugent. Our pupils felt a sense of collective gratitude which came across in their emotional, heartfelt performance as they understood how the work that has been done supports pupils less fortunate themselves.
