A Day in the Life of our Transition Coach

A Day in the Life of our Transition Coach

My morning starts with greeting our Year 7 cohort in the Dorothy Stang Theatre where they are preparing for the day ahead. The students have the chance to share any concerns they have about their day.

Typically during this winter term I am in several lessons a week providing learning support and assistance to students in class. I also schedule pastoral and academic ‘drop-ins’ with a range of students as required.

I am available to Year 7 students on the yard at morning break and lunch time so that they have a regular point of contact over their Transition period from Primary School.

In addition I collect and share information with our Primary feeder schools which helps to ensure a smooth transition for our newest students.

Soon I hope to be able to once again welcome students from our local Primary Schools for taster activity sessions here at St Julie’s.

We are currently accepting applications for our 2021 intake. Please contact me on 0151 428 6421 if you would like support with this process.
