St. Julie's Welcomes Physics Interns
Two first class physicists, Kate Furnell and Sasha Eames, have joined the school for four and a half weeks as this year’s interns from The Ogden Trust. The Ogden Trust’s “Teach Physics” program aims to increase the number of physics graduates going into teacher training and so as part of Kate’s and Sasha’s internship here at St Julie’s, they will be gaining valuable experience in the many aspects of teaching.
The two interns will not only get hands on experience of teaching key stage 3 science, they will also be part of the school’s outreach program in which they will deliver physics lessons to primary schools and will be hosting the Young Women In Physics day at the University of Liverpool.
Their experience with St Julie’s is designed to give them an insight into the true nature of teaching and will hopefully help them progress further into the teaching profession.
