Blackberry Trout Face

As part of Safety Awareness Week Year 10 and 11 students watched Twenty Stories High Theatre Company's award winning play Blackberry Trout Face by Lawrence Wilson. This hardhitting play looks at how three young people cope when their heroin addict mother abandons them. This was followed by a Q and A session with the cast.

Here are some comments from our pupils on the value of watching this excellent performance.

"It made me realise how lucky I am and to appreciate my mum"

"It was not the usual 'do not do drugs' type play. I kept thinking how the mum had lost everything and had no self pride".

"When the daughter was about to try drugs herself I wanted to shout out."

"It made me cry to see how the whole family was effected, but they came through in the end."
