Safety First for PSHE

Safety First for PSHE

On Friday the school came off our usual timetable for the first of this Year's PSHE days. The theme for the day was 'Personal Safety', and students participated in all kinds of activities!

As well as a range of different class based activities, we had a dramatic fire safety demonstration from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service showing how not to deal with an oil based fire. Some students were also able to explore a Fire Engine to see what they are like inside.

Year 9 were able to learn about some of the dangers of the internet and simple precautions to follow in their CEOPs training.

Students got the chance to 'get physical' with training on some very practical self defence techniques.

Year 7 were out of school for the day to allow their review day to take place, but they too participated with some work on being safe on the journey to school.

The day was a huge success, and our thanks go to all the staff and students for participating so enthusiastically!
