A Level Politics students take on Westminster!

Our Politics students here at St. Julie’s last week had the fantastic opportunity of visiting and touring the Houses of Parliament in London. We were taken through all of the key areas of the Palace of Westminster, including the House of Commons and the House of Lords, before having a focus group workshop on the role and functioning of Select Committees. The students were tasked with researching and formally debating the role of the committees, and the whole session was highly engaging.

After this we were able to visit the court rooms of the Supreme Court before viewing Downing Street, the Horse Guard Cavalry, Buckingham Palace and Covent Garden.

The day was a great success and enjoyed by all...the challenge now is for the students to put into practice what they’ve learned in their Politics exams!
