Golden Days Continue

On Sunday, 8th December, 2019, Mr Alderman was accompanied to Our Lady of the Annuciation Parish, Bishop Eton, by 6th Form students Natasha and Niamh to continue the presentation of golden commemorative statues of St. Julie to our local parish communities.

These golden statues mark the 50th anniversary of the canonisation of St. Julie and their distribution has formed part of our Year of the Saint celebrations which have seen pilgrimages to Rome (where we got a shout out from the Pope) and to Namur and Amiens in the footsteps of St. Julie and fellow founder, Francoise Blin de Bourdin.

Natasha and Niamh were there to represent the senior students of our school who form The 1804 Society.  They presented the statue to parish priest Fr Tim Buckley – whose order, The Redemptorists, invited the Sisters of Notre Dame to England in 1845! We pray that this long association will continue.

We hope this statue of The Smiling Saint will be a focus for prayer for parishioners for years to come.
