During half term, pupils from Years 11 and 12 visited Auschwitz-Birkenau. The visit was an incredibly moving and, at times, harrowing one as we witnessed the evidence of atrocities committed by the Nazi regime.

In addition to the visit to the concentration camp, pupils also went on a walking tour of Krakow's historic Jewish quarter, Kasimierz, and its medieval castle and cathedral. A trip to the Wielickza Salt Mine also completed a packed schedule, with all pupils braving the 386-step descent into the mine to see the incredible carvings left by generations of miners.
