A Warm Welcome at Princes Road Synagogue

On 5th June, a party of 12 wonderful Year 7 students accompanied by Miss Hyland and Mr Anderson visited the Princes Road Synagogue.   They received a brilliant welcome there and learnt a huge amount about the Jewish faith which will stand them in good stead for their GCSE exams in Year 11.  It's never too early to start learning!

Seeing the various features of the synagogue - including the bimmah and the magnificent scrolls - really put their learning into context.  The story about Jacob, Leah and Rachel was engagingly told with reference to the bridal room near the entrance to the synagogue.

After the conclusion of that visit, it was back in the minibus and off to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King where participants explored the symbolism of this amazing building of which the people of our Archdiocese are so proud.

All in all, it was an excellent day of learning - which fed the spirit as well as the mind!
