Year 7 made a splash today launching water bottle rockets in their science lessons.
As part of a study of balanced and unbalanced forces the students joined Mr Pontifex in using air pressure to propel the bottles into the air.
This experiment is part of a wide range of practical work that the Science curriculum draws upon to enhance and reinforce understanding in a fun and engaging way - but not all of it gets us quite so wet!
The students can use their experimental discoveries to help improve the experiment in the future...just as soon as we've recovered some of the apparatus from the top of a rather large tree!
