Performers Triumph at Now Festival

This week has been action packed for our Now Festival performers promoting their messages of mental health. This year's festival was based on adverse children experiences, ACEs, and explored how experience during childhood can have a lasting and negative effect of a person if the correct support is not in place.

Our week began with opening a conference for leading education, children and medical professionals. After an outstanding performance, which was praised highly by audience members including Mr Steve Reddy, Director of Children’s Services and Councillor Barbara Murray, Cabinet Member for Education, our girls got to put forward their questions about how support and awareness of mental health can be developed.

Next up, on Thursday evening, St Julie’s performed as part of the 2nd night of the festival alongside 6 other secondary school groups. After a evening of real talent, the judges awarded St Julie’s ‘Best Acting’ and ‘Best Overall Performance’ making them the winners of the night.

The week finished off back at Friday's final show with 6 more secondary schools taking to the stage and the winners of each night competed for the top prize. St Julie’s were awarded 2nd place with King’s Leadership taking first.

Massive congratulations to King's Leadership who gave a excellent performance!

It’s been an wonderful week of talent and we couldn't be more proud of our girls sharing such an important message.
