Year 9 Compete in Geographical Skills Challenge Day!

Two teams of 4 Year 9 pupils competed in the UK Geographical Skills Challenge Day on Friday 7 December held at Birkenhead School.

The pupils had a great day completing a wide range of challenges set by universities and employers, all linking with UK Geography.

Tasks set for the pupils included the University of Liverpool getting the pupils to calculate the carbon stores of forests; completing a Remote Sensing task set by a national employer; mapping crime using Digimap for schools GIS software and a water testing task set by the University of Sheffield.

Although the girls didn't come top of the leaderboard this time, they achieved fantastic scores and did both themselves and St. Julie's proud - well done to all involved!
