Santa Dash 2018

On Sunday 2nd December the streets of Liverpool turned red (with a splash of blue) as thousands of Santas gathered for the annual Santa Dash.

St. Julie's, this year raising funds for the Micah, the foodbank run by the city’s two cathedrals. were superbly represented as a team of 19 valiant staff and students took in the sights of the Pier Head, Albert Dock, Liverpool One and more.

Cheered on by an enthusiastic team of parents, wives, husbands and team photographer Mrs. Mannings, runners and walkers alike began the journey to victory. The team even fielded a 'ringer' as Mr. Harrison returned as an honorary guest to join Team St. Julie’s.

Participation in the event raised money for ‘Help The Animals at Christmas’ but the driving thought behind our runners was the sponsorship received to help purchase vital food and supplies for the city’s foodbank. At last count the total amount of money raised stands at £615, exceeding our original target.

Many thanks to the staff and students that took part. A big thanks goes to all those who have given so generously to such a good and deserving cause. What a fantastic start to the festive season! More festive cheer and fundraising will be taking place at St. Julie’s Sixth Form over the coming weeks so please come back to see more.
