Ministry Team Celebrate With OLA

On Saturday, 24th November, members of Overwhelm – St. Julie’s Music Ministry Team – joined the parishioners of Our Lady of the Assumption, near Belle Vale to celebrate the Feast of Christ the King, the final weekend of the Church year.

It was a really joyful and holy occasion with Overwhelm playing and singing really well, filling the building with music, both solemn and raucous!

The Mass started with a spirited rendition of Majesty, Worship His Majesty where Amelia (debuting on drums) played brilliantly, changing the mood of the piece at appropriate times.   Kelsey, on bass, was exceptional – playing with freedom and verve, enhancing every piece.

Amy, much to the surprise of her watching family, sang the psalm solo and was crystal clear in diction and melody!   Jasmine, another newcomer, smiled throughout and sang beautifully, ably assisted by two of our Year 7 recruits, Freya and Summer.  They really raised the roof when they sang Sing it in the Valleys and this prompted a spontaneous round of applause at the end of mass, something that rarely happens!

Thanks to all at OLA for the welcome and we look forward to visiting again!
