St. Julie's Represented at City Service

Following our own St. Julie's Service of Remembrance, two of our 1804 Society students represented us at the City of Liverpool Commemoration and Remembrance Service on the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice on Sunday, 11th November.

Deputy Head Girl Katherine and Communications Co-ordinator Alana gave up their Sunday morning to lay a wreath on behalf of us all at the Cenotaph at St. George's Hall. This is the biggest Remembrance service outside of London and it was an honour to see the veterans, armed services and other uniformed organisations marching.

Prayers were led by our own Archbishop Malcom and the Anglican Bishop Paul.  There was also a moving prayer from the Muslim tradition - a sign of this great multi-cultural and multi-faith city.  We also met the new Anglican Bishop of Warrington, Beverly, who was most impressed to see St. Julie's represented.

The silence was started and ended by a field gun firing a blank shell and the fluttering poppies were a poignant reminder of the fallen.

We will remember them.
