St. Julie's Remembers

The entire St. Julie's school community gathered today in our Peace Garden to unite in an act of Remembrance, marking 100 years since the end of 'the war to end all wars'.

Staff, students and governors stood in respectful silence as we were led through readings and prayers before the ceremonial laying of wreaths and the sounding of the last post. 

Our minute of silence began with a whistle - the sound dreaded by men in the trenches which signalled the action of going 'over the top' - and finished with the peace bell being tolled for the one hundredth time this week.
