UCAS

Year 13 university applicants are currently completing their UCAS applications for September 2019. Supporting your son / daughter with their application can be a daunting process, so here's a handy guide for parents from UCAS. There are a number of short, informative videos on the site as well which explain the process in more detail and you can sign up for their regular newsletter. Please remember that Oxbridge applicants and those studying some Law courses, Medicine, Veterinary and Dentistry courses must have sent off their application by 15th October. Check out www.ucas.com for further help and guidance.

CEIAG

In order to support KS5 students with their next steps, all Sixth Form students will attend a short presentation on Tuesday  9th October about the different types of Apprenticeships available. This will be followed up on 10th October by a more in depth presentation about the different levels of apprenticeships. Balfour Beatty will also be in attendance to speak to the students about careers in the construction industry.

UNIVERSITY AND APPRENTICESHIPS FAYRE

On Tuesday 9th October all Year 13 students will be visiting the University and Apprenticeships Fayre at Anfield stadium. The event will be an opportunity for students to speak to delegates, learn about university or apprenticeship life and attend seminars ranging from Russell Group to Student Finance. The visit is another opportunity for students to consider a range of future pathways and begin carving their own plan for the future. Information about applying for apprenticeships can be found here.

MENTAL HEALTH

Following on from a successful sexual health, relationships and mental health afternoon delivered by Brook Advisory in July, we will continue to offer support to students. Here is a useful guide to support parents. Other useful websites are https://youngminds.org.uk/ and http://teenmentalhealth.org/.
