Mayor Anderson Cuts The Ribbon!

Mayor Anderson Cuts The Ribbon!

We were delighted to be able to welcome Mayor Joe Anderson and Cabinet Member Cllr Barbara Murray into school for the ceremonial opening of our new building.

On a beautifully sunny afternoon Mayor Anderson met Mr Alderman and Sister Margaret, Chair of Governors, before being received by a guard of honour formed by our prefects and student representatives.

The group shared some prayers before the Mayor put his scissors into action for the cutting of the ribbon!

After spending some time with the students our guests then visited the Dorothy Stang Theatre to enjoy two student performances before making a tour of the school.

After meeting students in classrooms, the tour concluded in our school Chapel, where the Mayor addressed all students in Year 7, speaking appreciatevely of our building and describing some of the challenges faced during Liverpool's school buidling programme that led to the successes.

As his visit drew to a close, Mayor Anderson was very pleased to be presented with a framed print of our prayer of thanks, incorporating the 2018 Notre Dame medal.
