The Pilgrims return!

At the end of the GCSE exams, most year 11 students around the country just chill, take it easy and get bored within a couple of weeks.  Not so, at St. Julie’s!  34 Year 11 students along with 4 members of staff headed off to Rome for an adventure in the Eternal City.

In a packed itinerary they visited the catacombs, the Colosseum, the Vatican Museums (including the Sistine Chapel) and the Trevi Fountain.   The high point (quite literally) of the visit for many was climbing up the 551 steps to the top of the Dome of St. Peter’s from which there was an awesome panoramic view of Rome.

Oh, and there was plenty of pasta, pizza and gelato as well as an extremely popular shopping trip to Sephora!

Next year, a new set of pilgrims will venture to Rome to mark the 50th anniversary of the canonisation of Julie Billiart after whom our school is named!
