Humanities Field Trip To Speke Hall

On Thursday the whole of Year 7 visited Speke Hall with the Humanities faculty to put into practice some of their geographical and historical enquiry skills.  Pupils spent time investigating the significance of the River Mersey location for Merseyside and Liverpool Airport for their Geography focus, and also had a session finding out about the history of Speke Hall and its grounds as an example of Tudor architecture for their History session.

The pupils were fantastic, really enjoyed getting out of school to use their skills in the 'real world', and it was an excellent taste of what they will need to do if they take the subjects at GCSE level - they certainly showed themselves to be capable of studying in GCSE style, so thank you Year 7!
