Getting Colourful for Pride

Getting Colourful for Pride

Throughout June, pupils and staff have been showing their support for the LGBT+ community by celebrating Pride Month. Each week of the month has centred on a different theme and the girls have learnt not only about the history of the Pride Movement but also about the different communities who identify with and support the movement.

The entire month was brought to a vibrant end yesterday, as the girls came out in their hundreds to show their support for the LGBT+ community by adding their colourful handprint to our wonderful rainbow art, emblazoned with the words: Love, Hope, Pride, Equality, Freedom and Respect to represent our hopes for the LGBT+ community.

The event also saw the launch of Identity Julie, a symbol we will be sharing with the rest of the Notre Dame community to show our support for those marginalised communities who are discriminated against and need our support.

A colourful, educational day was had by all. Well done girls!
