Art Students Respond to Hillsborough Visit

Year seven have been busy following the visit to St. Julie's Art department by Hillsborough justice campaigners, Stephen Kelly (brother of Hillsborough victim Micheal), Richie Greaves (Hillsborough survivor) and the artist who created our memorial painting, Phil Garrett.

Girls in Mrs Strachan's Year seven Art class met with the three visitors and they talked in detail about issues which led to the disaster and the resulting campaign for justice, truth and accountability.

Following the visit, the class used their weekly Art homework activity to capture the day and put their feelings on paper using a variety of media which we wanted to share with you.

Stephen talked to the girls about unity and making a difference together and we hope you agree that this is a really positive way of showing support for all using their creative talents.
