REQUIRED FOR SEPTEMBER 2018:  Curriculum Leader for English

The successful candidate will be required to teach up to and including A Level

Contract:  Full time/Permanent     Salary:  TLR 1B (£9,377) + MPR to UPR3

St Julie’s Catholic High School is a popular and oversubscribed school for girls, situated in the conservation area of Woolton Village, South Liverpool.  In September 2017, we moved into our brand new £23 million school building.

GCSE and Sixth Form results in 2017 demonstrated excellent progress since our last inspection with a Progress 8 score in line with national and KS5 results that put us in the top 25% nationally for A Level and top 10% nationally for Level 3 BTEC.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and influential Curriculum Leader of English to join our successful and established Department for September 2018.  We are now looking for somebody who can provide outstanding leadership to ensure continued improvement in learning and progress for all areas of English. This role would suit someone who is looking to make a step into middle leadership, or to build upon a successful career so far at this level.  You will be someone who is committed to the development of a stimulating, differentiated and contextualised curriculum, enabling all students to achieve their full potential.  Our teaching staff in the department come with a very high level of combined experience and knowledge, and in Summer 2017 we achieved 72% 9-4, 52% 9-5 and 21% 9-7 at GCSE. The English Department comprises nine staff, and is well resourced with up to date technology.

As a Catholic School, we wish to appoint someone who shares our moral purpose of ensuring all our young people receive the best education possible, in a supportive environment, from staff who care about them.  You will be resilient, dynamic and passionate about tackling disadvantage and improving students’ life chances.  In return, you will find working at St Julie’s incredibly rewarding due to our vibrant and talented students, who have a real thirst for learning, and engaging in the various range of opportunities.  You will join a highly professional, enthusiastic and dedicated staff that ensure St Julie’s is a welcoming, caring and supportive environment in which to learn and work.

St Julie's Catholic High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.  An enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required, with Children's Barred List check, for all successful applicants.
