Year 9 Get Wet Feet For Geography!

Today Year 9 Geography pupils went out into North Wales to visit a range of locations along the River Alyn.

Pupils were investigating how and why a river changes along its course, and to do this we had the pupils in the river measuring its width, depth, velocity, discharge, gradient and pollution levels.

The pupils were excellent ambassadors for Geography, and for St. Julie’s, with great enthusiasm shown for collecting the data.

The next stage is to analyse the data to find out if the River Alyn matches the theoretical Bradshaw Model, and the pupils are genuinely looking forward to finding out in class next week!
