REQUIRED FOR JANUARY 2018:  Teaching Assistant for Science
Hours of work:  30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.45 am to 3.15 pm
39 weeks per year/term time only including five INSET days
Salary:  Grade 2 - Point 10 [Range:  10 to 15]:  £11,761 to £12,847 (hourly rate: £8.56 to £9.35)

The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an ambitious, qualified and dedicated Teaching Assistant, with high expectations and a strong commitment to school improvement, and the capacity to demonstrate improvement of their own practice through observation and evaluation, to join our Science Department.  The successful candidate will be required to work in partnership with class teachers to support learning by working with individual or small groups of children under the direction of teaching staff.

St Julie's Catholic High School, in the trusteeship of the Sisters of Notre Dame, has just undergone a £23 million investment in a new school building, which will open to our students on Monday 18 September 2017. There are 8 brand new and fully resourced laboratories, serviced by 2 Technicians from 2 large preparatory rooms. Each room is bright and airy, with excellent light and comfortable seating and furniture, helping students to focus on their learning. The principal aim of our school it to put into put into practice the words of the school's patron saint, St Julie Biliart, "Let them be taught what is necessary for life".  We are a large voluntary aided 11-18 school for girls, with boys in the Sixth Form.  The successful candidate will support the governors' commitment for the school to continue to be the secondary school of choice for Catholic girls in South Liverpool and the surrounding area.  We provide a Catholic education to girls of all faiths, as part of our educational Mission.

  • progress made by learners in the sixth form is good and particularly so in the vocational subjects.
