REQUIRED FOR APRIL 2018:  Curriculum Leader for Science
The successful candidate will be required to teach Science up to A Level
Contract:  Full time/Permanent     Salary:  TLR 1B (£9,377) + MPR to UPR3

St Julie’s Catholic High School is a popular and oversubscribed school for girls, situated in the conservation area of Woolton Village, South Liverpool.  In September 2017, we moved into our brand new £23 million school building, with outstanding Science facilities that can be viewed on the ‘New Build’ section of our school website.  GCSE and Sixth Form results in 2017 demonstrated excellent progress since our last inspection with a Progress 8 score that is in line with national, and positive value added scores for A-Level (top 25%) and BTEC (top 10%) that demonstrated the commitment of staff and students to their teaching and learning.

We seek to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and influential Curriculum Leader of Science to inspire our current department.  The results for separate Science at GCSE A*-C were broadly in line with national performance this summer, and we are now looking for somebody who can provide outstanding leadership to ensure continued improvement in learning and progress for all areas of Science. This role would suit someone who is looking to make a step into middle leadership, or to build upon a successful career so far at this level.  You will be someone who is committed to the development of a stimulating, differentiated and contextualised curriculum, enabling all students to achieve their full potential.

As a Catholic School, we wish to appoint someone who shares our moral purpose of ensuring all our young people receive the best education possible, in a supportive environment, from staff who care about them.  You will be resilient, dynamic and passionate about tackling disadvantage and improving students’ life chances.  In return, you will find working at St Julie’s incredibly rewarding due to our vibrant and talented students, who have a real thirst for learning, and engaging in the various range of opportunities.  You will join a highly professional, enthusiastic and dedicated staff that ensure who St Julie’s is a welcoming, caring and supportive environment in which to learn and work.

St Julie's Catholic High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.  An enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required, with Children's Barred List check, for all successful applicants.
