Hours of Work:  30 hours per week / term time only including 5 INSET days
Salary: Grade 3, Point range 15-20:  Salary range:  £12,734 to £14,505 (hourly rate:  £9.35 to £10.65)

The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and fully qualified Chef to lead the preparation of food for students throughout the school day.  The successful candidate will be responsible, with a team of Catering Assistants, for all food preparation on a day to day basis.  Other responsibilities will include involvement in the Food Safety and Health & Safety systems, along with stock control, and kitchen organisation.  If you are creative and passionate to help us produce innovative menu choices and enhance the overall dining experience for our students; have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player, able to work unsupervised; have skills in food safety requirements, food preparation and cooking and presentation; kitchen maintenance and cleaning, and give attention to detail, then we want to hear from you!

It is the policy of St Julie's to promote Healthy Eating as part of a healthy lifestyle for its’ students, in accordance with National Food Standards, through the provision of healthy meals and snacks in the school dining room, and by the active promotion of good diet through the relevant curriculum area.  Food standards are monitored through visits by Liverpool City Council Good Hygiene Service (Food Hygiene Rating 5, March 2015) and Food Standards Agency. Additionally, through the work of The Health Schools Award and by line management. 

St Julie's Catholic High School, in the trusteeship of the Sisters of Notre Dame, has just undergone a £23 million investment in a new school building, which will open to our students on Monday 18 September 2017, featuring a brand new dining and kitchen facilities, with a separate Deli Bar for after-school events.  The principal aim of our school it to put into put into practice the words of the school's patron saint, St Julie Billiart, "Let them be taught what is necessary for life".  We are a large voluntary aided 11-18 school for girls, with boys admitted in the Sixth Form.  The successful candidate will support the governors' commitment for the school to continue to be the secondary school of choice for Catholic girls in South Liverpool and the surrounding area.  We provide a Catholic education to girls of all faiths, as part of our educational mission.

  • progress made by learners in the sixth form is good and particularly so in the vocational subjects.
