Dear Parents & Carers

Re: Arrangements for the first day on Monday 18 September 2017
PE Kit for Years 7 to 10
Professional dress code for all Sixth Form students

I write at this time to inform you that the old building of St Julie's Catholic High School is now
officially closed, after 50 years. The new school is still on target to be handed over on the afternoon
of Friday 15 September 2017. At the hand-over, on that afternoon, Archbishop Malcolm McMahon
and Parish Priest, Fr Tim Buckley, will attend a short Service to Bless the Notre Dame Chapel ahead
of all the students starting the new academic year 2017/2018 on Monday 18 September.

Arrangements for the first day of the new academic year, Monday 18 September 2017

• Year 7, 8 and 9:

Students are asked to arrive at school by 8.30 am for registration, form time,
assembly, activities, and a guided tour of the school.

• Year 10 and 11:

To ensure all students are appropriately inducted into the new school we are
asking that Year 10 and 11 students arrive at school at 10.30 am to engage in the above activities.

• Sixth Form:

Students are asked to arrive at school at 11.45 am, again to engage in the above
activities, and for coursing to take place.

• Lessons:
It is anticipated that normal lessons will start on that first day from 1.30 pm, as we try
to ensure we have a good start to the new academic year.

PE Kit

Can I also remind you that there will be a new PE kit for students in Year 7 to 10. Year 11 students
will be allowed to engage in PE activities in their current kit. The PE kit for Year 7 to 10 can only
be purchased from 'Fitwell', Unit 16, Belle Vale Shopping Centre.

The PE kit comprises the following compulsory items:

• Aptus full zip over top Black/White with school badge
• Aptus female training top Black/White with school badge
• Trutex leggings Black
• Bowden shorts Black
• Socks Black

Dress code for all Sixth Form students

We aim to improve the standard of dress in Sixth Form and provide a professional working
environment in the new school. As such, all Sixth Form students will be required to wear a 'business
suit'. This will include a fitted jacket and formal knee-length skirt.

The business jacket will be provided this year, free of charge, to all Sixth Form students as we
introduce this new dress code. The new jacket, which features a small crimson Notre Dame Cross
above the front pocket, is only available this year from 'Trutex Schoolwear', 298 St Mary's Road,
Cresssington, L19 0NQ. Students who have secured their place in Sixth Form, following GCSE
results day on 24 August 2017, should aim to visit Trutex Schoolwear in the week commencing 4
September 2017 for a fitting. It is advisable to attend Trutex Schoolwear for a jacket fitting before
purchasing a matching black skirt, which can be bought separately at a retailer of your daughter's
choice, whilst adhering to the above dress code. Sixth Form students will continue to wear a white
open neck blouse, and black jumper if required.

We look forward to welcoming your daughter into our new school on Monday 18 September 2017. In
the meantime, may I wish you all an enjoyable, safe and relaxing summer.

Yours faithfully

Mr T Alderman
