We'd like to congratulate Speranza Rufolo who has been invited to perform as part of the Mother Tongue Other Tongue Language competition run by Manchester University.

Speranza entered the competition by submitting a commentary on her two favourite pieces of poetry in Russian and Italian, and is now in contention for a prize!

Speranza is a hugely talented linguist who is passionate about sharing her love for languages with others. On Thursday she leads the popular Italian club, which introduces Year 7 and 8 pupils to the Italian language and culture.
