A Level Students Tour Liverpool Arena

A Level Students Tour Liverpool Arena

On Friday afternoon our Travel and Tourism students from the Sixth Form took time out of their Christmas holiday to attend a practical session focusing on the industry at the Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool (ACC Liverpool).

We were treated to an in depth and informative presentation about the centre and how it has operated since it opened in 2008, and how it has been so successful in bringing business into Liverpool.  We were also given a guided tour of all of their venues (now also including the Exhibition Centre) and got to enter backstage areas including dressing rooms, the VIP boxes and the Arena itself.

The success of ACC Liverpool is in large part due to their excellent customer service, and this is one of the focus areas of Year 12 coursework so students are now able to analyse and evaluate how successful the customer service at ACC Liverpool is in order to gain a strong grade on their coursework.

Year 13 students organised the trip as part of their Travel coursework on 'Event Management' which required the students to organise an event, so we covered as many parts of the course in one as we could; helping out Year 12s with Customer Service, gaining experience and material to write about for Year 13s to use in their unit on 'Guided Tours' and of course ensuring they organise their event successfully.

Thanks to ACC Liverpool for their support in this work.
