St. Julie's Supports CAFOD Fun Run!

What do most people do two days after Christmas? Slow down, watch the television, relax, eat turkey leftovers? Well, that might be 'most people' but Team St. Julie’s is not 'most people'!

On 27th December, the aforementioned team of 18 pupils, 3 members of staff with their assorted children and Diego the black Labrador gathered to provide logistical support for the annual Liverpool CAFOD Fun Run at Wavertree Park. This was in aid of the Ethiopian Food Crisis Appeal.

On a quite beautiful day, Team St. Julie’s sold T-shirts, handed out St. Julie’s water and jelly babies to the runners and walkers in various stages of discomfort and cheered home all the participants, waving flags and making each individual feel special!

The event was started by Frank Cottrell Boyce, author of Millions and also part of the group who devised the London Olympics Opening Ceremony.

The members of our team were fantastic, giving up their time to support this event and everyone commented on the impact Team St. Julie’s had. So, next year why not join in and become a 'blue cap'?
