St Julie’s Smash the Santa Dash!

Dec 7, 2016

St Julie’s Smash the Santa Dash!

There were strange goings on in Liverpool on Sunday 4th December, 2016.  First one, then two, then many Santa clad individuals gathered at the Pier Head.  25 Sixth Form students and staff represented St. Julie’s and they dashed, jogged and strolled around a 5 km course through the streets of the City Centre!

Everyone had a wonderful time and the weather was kind to us.  The sight of so many bobbing heads as they went up the incline on the flyover was both awe-inspiring and moving as many were raising funds for good causes such as Marie Curie.

The race was started by the real Santa who took time off from the toy factory to encourage everyone.  As it turned out, over 9,000 took part setting a new worldwide Santa Dash record, beating the previous best held by Santa Dash Las Vegas!
