It was all go in the Art Department today as they hosted a full day workshop with the artist Faith Bebbington. 

Faith creates sculptures using simple construction techniques she has developed working with newspaper, cardboard and other recycled materials. She worked with our two Year 11 GCSE classes to create dynamic sculptures based on shells. 

The students prepared for the day by photographing and drawing shells and the sculptures will form part of their GCSE coursework.  The students gained a lot from the day, particularly from working alongside a contemporary artist, giving them an exciting opportunity to explore sculpture and recycling and to ask questions relating to the Art industry. 

Students were able to develop their creativity, confidence and technical skills and create impressive personal responses to the theme.
