Students Interviewed for TV at Space Conference

30 Year 8 pupils had the opportunity to attend the 2015 UK Space Conference in the ACC, Liverpool.

They heard from scientists working in astronomy and space exploration, finding out about our solar system, how they could help to hunt asteroids and life on board the International Space Station (ISS). An appeal was made from Tim Peake, who is to become the first British astronaut to visit the ISS, for schools and pupils to get involved in his time there through their website and by suggesting experiments he could do while on board.

The students were shown around the exhibition and got to see the variety of companies that are involved in space travel today. They got to visit a planetarium, touch moon rocks, asteroid and meteoroid fragments, learned about the environment of space and other planets, and how a simple rocket is made!

Some of our students were also interviewed by Newsround, asking their views on space travel and exploration. You can see the video online here!
