Letter to Parents re: Planning Decision

Dear Parent/Carer

Re: Planning Application for new St Julie’s School

I am delighted to report that at a meeting of the Planning Committee in the Town Hall today, 16 June 2015, it was decided to approve the application to build a new school for St Julie’s predominantly on its own site, with a small amount of green field being used across the boundary fence.

This is fantastic news as it means that work can start in the Autumn Term on the construction of a new school at St Julie’s. I am very grateful for all the support of parents, staff and students, over the last two years in getting us to this position. I am particularly grateful for the support I personally received today from staff, parents and governors at the planning meeting, which was not easy and at times quite vitriolic.

However, we can now look forward to a more positive future. Currently, the schedule would dictate that the school buildings would be complete in spring 2017 and that we would move into those new buildings during the Easter holidays 2017.

If you have not already done so, please visit our website and see some CGI images of the new build that have been created recently.

I will of course update you before the end of term on a range of matters, including progress with the new build.

If you wish to make any comments or ask any questions please use the feedback form at the bottom of the website.

Yours faithfully
