Designers Visit London

This year the DT and Art department have successfully run their Design Trip to London with 6 staff and 47 students from Years 8,9,10 and 11.

The trip was put together to give students an insight into possible course and career pathways through a range of experiences in the capital city.

We visited the Warner Brothers Studio and saw the possibilities from Harry Potter set design, makeup, props, 3D modelling on a huge scale, illustrating, camera work and production and new technologies in green screen and computer graphics.

We saw Wicked the musical and visited Madam Taussaud's as well. After that we had a trip on the London Eye and witnessed the spectacular view that structure has to offer.

A more traditional visit included a tour of the V&A museum but the hilight of the trip once again seemed to be the need for consumer overload with everything that Oxford Street has to offer!

A good time was had by all and the high street shops should have had time to re-stock by now if you're thinking of going back in the Summer.

Many thanks to all involved and look out for the next design trip in the near future.
