Drama is an exciting, creative and challenging course, giving you a range of opportunities. The current GCSE groups have taken part in The National Shakespeare for Schools Festival, created an animation film for City of Culture, attended a prestigious Women in the Director’s Chair Convention. In December the Year 10 group performed in the Human Rights Festival at The Blue Coat Chambers.
St. Julie’s is a partner school with the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse. Students attend workshops and auditions, when the opportunity arises. You will study different styles of drama, researching historical periods, theatre companies and practitioners.
Throughout the course you will see a variety of live performances, including musicals, Shakespeare, comedy and community theatre. Many former students go onto to study Drama at A Level and Higher Education. At present former students are studying degree courses at Italia Conti, LIPA and RADA. The Drama department has an impressive 100% pass rate at A Level and students have followed specific career pathways into Directing, Teaching and Drama Therapy.
